Flight 1248 – Midway to Newark

Originally scheduled to take off at 7:30 PM CST , flight 1248 operated by expressjet airlines was delayed for hours, upon hours , upon hours. Finally the inbound aircraft left its originating airport and was set to arrive at 12:30 PM CST. Around 1:15 CST , the aircraft was diverted to Cleveland for unknown mechanical problems and all customers on flight 1248 were given cab fair to O’Hare Airport area , and a vouched for a hotel. Upon arriving at Holliday Inn Select we were informed they were full and that Continental had been sold a bunch of rooms by an agent company. Vouchers being worthless and having been awake for 36 hours, we asked if we could crash in a conference room. The hotel manager was nice enough to let us do this.

The hotel lobby is now full of passengers who were screwed over by Continental and their poor planning.

The only thing Continental offered to straighten out the situation was for us to pay for our own cab right back to Midway (about $60) and then they could make other arrangements (meaning send me back another hour to a different hotel)

This is total bullshit. Oh why do you suck so much continental.
